Sunday comes around every week. And no matter the size or style of worship, clergy and musicians are in a constant act of working together to “produce or create something”–of co-laboring to bring the Word of God alive. Do you have a desire for the creative process to be more clear and have a common vocabulary to take the work to a deeper and higher level?

Would you like to bring a sensory-rich expression of the Word that touches mind and heart in powerful ways week after week?

Several years ago Marcia and Chuck met when he accompanied her in a regional workshop. The sense of collaboration was instant. Shortly after that meeting, Marcia invited Chuck to work with her on General Conference 2012 of the United Methodist Church. Since leading that conference, they have worked together extensively in many settings to bring their individual gifts and decades of experience together in ways that can be taught and replicated in your church.

Chuck Bell has been a church musician for over 20 years, planning and leading worship in a variety of genres and contexts. He is now a full-time consultant, composer and teacher, helping musicians explore a deeper understanding of their role within a worship service and assisting pastor/musician teams in deciphering language barriers. He has provided musical support and leadership at international, national and regional denominational events. He is a Worship Design Studio Associate and composes and arranges music for WDS events and worship series. He has a degree in commercial music and film scoring and has released solo piano and orchestral albums.

Marcia McFee is a well-known worship consultant, seminary professor, and leader at international, national and regional events.Thousands of churches have studied with her through her extensive travel over the last 20 years leading workshops and retreats for pastors and worship teams. She serves over 900 congregations representing 10 denominations through the Worship Design Studio, an online coaching and resource website. Her bestselling book, Think Like a Filmmaker: Sensory-Rich Worship Design for Unforgettable Messages provides a step-by-step process for collaboration of all the worship arts in a timeline that creates a positive and creative working environment.

Where the clergy/musician relationship is healthy and collaborative, the worship life of the congregation flourishes. When it isn’t, both parties are often miserable in their ministries. It doesn't all have to be the "luck of the draw." We can learn ways of honing practical skills and building a common vocabulary that can inspire and transform our collaborations, relationships, and our worship design and leadership. And our congregations will benefit. Join us and let's move the conversations deeper for the sake of healthy and vibrant communities!
